What is insolvency?

Insolvency describes a financial condition experienced by a person or business when the assets no longer exceed the liabilities or when a person or business can no longer pay their debt when it becomes due.

From being insolvent a person or business needs to take action. This could be to consolidate their debt, arrange an IVA (individual voluntary agreement), or bankruptcy.
